We have four deer in the freezer for consumption by us and the interns coming in 2013. Prospective interns are contacting the farm every week and we have several scheduled through June of 2013.
While the garden is seeing the last light of day, cabbage and lettuce can still be harvested for kimchi and kraut.
We're planning to tap the maple trees on the next new moon which will be January 12th or thereabouts. It is hoped that the weather conditions will allow for better production than last season.
During the past few months, Justin Dean of Local 127, a local-food-focused restaurant in downtown Cincinnati has come to the farm for fresh produce. If you're in town and looking for a great local food experience, visit Local 127. Check out their website at:

The new year brings the promise of new life. We are eternally grateful for all the blessings of this year, from the fresh produce, to the growing season, the CSA, our interns and the peace and serenity of an early morning walk in the woods surrounding Red Sunflower Farm.
